OTBT 2026: All You Need to Know

Are you ready for Off the Beatson Track 2026?

We’re looking forward to welcoming you all to Off the Beatson Track! Join us at Riverside Museum for our annual 10k walk, proudly sponsored by Allied Vehicles. We’ve got a fun-filled day planned for all ages, and we can’t wait to see you there!

Here’s everything you need to know to help you prepare for the day, from travel and parking to what to expect at the event.

Route Map:

We’re excited to share the route map for Off The Beatson Track 2026! The event will start and finish at the Riverside Museum, with a scenic path that takes you along the River Kelvin and past key landmarks like the Kelvingrove Museum.

How To Travel To The Event

Travel reminders: 

• There will be NO Subway services operating on Sunday 30th August due to signalling testing. If you were planning to travel by Subway, please make alternative arrangements and allow plenty of time for your journey.
• The nearest train station is Partick, which is approximately a 15–20 minute walk from Riverside Museum.
• Due to ongoing building works along the Clydeside and significantly reduced parking availability, parking at Riverside Museum will be reserved for Blue Badge holders and drop-off/pick-up only.
• Participant parking is available at SEC Car Park 8, just off Stobcross Road, at a cost of £6 for the day, payable via the RingGo app.
• The SEC Car Park 8 will be manned, so please speak to a member of staff if you need any assistance. Please follow the instructions from SEC staff when you arrive.
• Please look out for parking signage and Beatson Cancer Charity representatives at the entrance from Stobcross Road to help guide you.
• From SEC Car Park 8, it is approximately a 10–15 minute walk to Riverside Museum.
• If you're travelling with someone with reduced mobility, children, buggies, scooters or dogs, drivers can drop them off at Riverside Museum before parking at SEC Car Park 8.
• Please plan your journey in advance and allow plenty of time to arrive before the event starts.

What You Will Need 

Preparation reminders: 

• Please bring your own water bottle as you will need plenty throughout the day and we cannot supply single use plastic bottles. There are refill points at the Riverside Museum and the half-way point.
• Please make sure you bring your OTBT wristband to the event as this confirms when you set off on your 10K.
• Wear your Off The Beatson Track t-shirt and comfortable footwear suitable for a 10k walk. Feel free to add your own message to the back!
• Dress appropriately for the weather and come prepared for the conditions on the day.
• If you’re unable to make any of the advertised collection dates, you can collect your t-shirt and wristband on the morning of the event from the marquee at Riverside Museum. Please arrive in plenty of time, as there may be queues.
• There is no bag drop available, so please only bring what you need with you.
• Children’s scooters are welcome, but children must be supervised at all times.

Prepare Your Pets

Pet reminders: 

• Dogs are very welcome at Off the Beatson Track! Please keep your dog on a lead throughout the event and on the route.
• Please bring water and any treats your dog may need to keep them comfortable throughout the walk. Water and treats will also be available at the Ambassadog Station.
• Please clean up after your dog and dispose of waste responsibly. Spare poo bags will be available at the Ambassadog Station.
• Please be mindful that not everyone (or every dog) is comfortable around dogs, so give others plenty of space where needed.
• Don’t forget to visit our Ambassadog Station near Hyndland Station, where you can enter your dog into this year’s Ambassadog competition, take some photos and pick up some treats!
• Baxter, our 2025/26 Ambassadog, will be joining us to see who takes the crown this year!

On The Walk

Walking reminders:

• Please stick to the wave you signed up for. Due to the high volume of participants, keeping waves separated helps avoid congestion and makes the event enjoyable for everyone.
• There is no time limit to complete the walk. There are no timing chips or walker numbers - take your time and enjoy the route!
• Please keep an eye out for accessible route signage. There are a couple of sections that aren't wheelchair or buggy friendly, so follow the BLACK arrows on a RED background marked ‘Sport Ecosse’ just before Hyndland Station.
• There are multiple toilet facilities along the route, including accessible toilets. The Beatson Café will also be open for toilets and refreshments.
• Entertainment will be provided along the route, with cheer squads, dancers, singers and pipers helping to keep you motivated along the way.
• We’ll also be launching our Ambassadog competition just before the entrance to Hyndland Train Station. Bring your paw-fect pup along to enter on the day, grab some photos and treats, or pick up a flyer to enter online after the event!
• Please be mindful of other walkers, dogs and local residents throughout the route and help us keep the area clean and enjoyable for everyone.

Charity Village

On return to the Riverside Museum, you can look forward to a whole afternoon of fun. We have activities for kids (and big kids!) and would like to thank all who are coming along on the day to our charity village. Card and Cash options available. There will be something for everyone - all dietary requirements are catered for.
