Do I need to wear a wristband to take part?
Yes, the wristbands determine your wave number and are essentially your ticket on the day. Please wear them and make sure they are viable at all times.
What sizes of t-shirts are available?
T-shirts are included your ticket (ages 16 and up), and we have sizes 3-4 and 9-11 for children, and Small – XXL adults available.
If you have one, we encourage you to wear your t-shirt from a previous year, as this helps us keep costs, and our footprint, as low as possible.
Can I collect the packs for my friends and family who have registered for the event?
If you have the booker name and t-shirt sizes required, then it is a great idea to pick up their t-shirts too.
How do I know what wave I am in?
This year, waves are allocated at the t-shirt and wristband collections and are first come first served, until the wave is full. Wave 1 will leave at 11am. Each subsequent wave will leave site as soon as it is safe to do so, with all participants out on the route by 11.20am.
How many children can I bring?
Each adult ticket only allows for up to 3 children’s tickets. This is purely for health and safety, to ensure children are always accompanied by an adult.
I have not received a confirmation email; how do I know if I am registered?

I can’t see anything about children on my booking confirmation, what do I do?
Your booking confirmation will only show chargeable tickets, don't worry. Speak to the team when you collect your pack and we will ensure your booking is correct
What time do we need to be at the Riverside Museum?
We ask everyone to be onsite for 10:30am to get involved in the party atmosphere and the Zumba warm up.
When will my wave start walking?
For the waves, we don't have a set schedule - the first wave will leave at 11am and the others then will set off at an appropriate interval after the wave in front. We are asking that everyone is onsite for 10:30am to get involved in the party atmosphere and the Zumba warm up.
Is it possible to add another person to our group booking?
To add someone, you just need to buy another place via the website! When you collect your pack, make sure everyone is in the same wave so you can all set off together.
Do you provide water?
We no longer provide bottled water at our events, to help us to be as sustainable as possible. There is a Scottish water point at the Riverside Museum to fill up your own water bottle, or you are welcome to buy one of ours when you collect your pack, or on the day. There is a refill station at our halfway point along the route.
Will I be able to pick up my t-shirt on the day of the event?
Yes! Just come to the collection point within the marquee at the Riverside Museum. To save queuing on the day, we recommend picking up your t-shirts sand wristbands prior to the event. If you are collecting on the day, please arrive in plenty of time to do that before the Zumba warm up.
Will there be somewhere to leave my bag?
No, we will not have a bag drop available so please make sure you only bring what you need.
Will there be toilets along the route?
Yes, there are several toilets available to use on the route! The Beatson café will be open for toilets and refreshments, there are toilets at Gartnavel hospital, and at the halfway point just past the end of Dorchester Avenue. There are also public toilets at Kelvinbridge.
Where can I pick up my t-shirt and wristband?
Directions to the charity office can be found Here. We are not within the Beatson itself, but across from the Beatson main entrance, up the hill a little bit. Please follow signs for the Maggie’s Centre, as our offices are across the road on the right-hand side. If you look out for our yellow windows/signage as we can be a wee bit tricky to find.
I would like to volunteer at the event; how can I get involved?
We would love for you to volunteer with us, please contact volunteering@beatsoncancercharity.org and we will let you know what opportunities we may have for you.
Can I fundraise via a sponsor form instead of using a Just Giving page?
Yes, it is fine to use one of our sponsor forms to fundraise offline. If you require one, please ask one of the team when collecting your t-shirts/wristbands, or get in touch at community@beatsoncancercharity.org and we can post them out to you. However, if you would be happy to raise funds online, we recommend Just Giving as a safe, quick and easy platform to gather in sponsorship. You can send out your individual link on Facebook / Instagram / WhatsApp / email to spread the word about your fundraising activity.
Is the route accessible?
Yes. There are a couple of points on the route that are not wheelchair / buggy friendly however, there will be signage to indicate the accessible sections.
Is it ok to bring scooters?
Children’s scooters are permitted on the route, however, please ensure children are always supervised.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes please! Dogs are very welcome at Off The Beatson Track, we ask only that they are kept on a lead and no mess is left, whether at the Riverside Museum or out on the route. Please be mindful that some people (and dogs) are not dog-people.
