A place to feel at home
Beatson Cancer Charity Wellbeing Centre, a unique space designed to be a haven for inpatients away from the ward
Beatson Cancer Charity’s Wellbeing Centre is a unique space designed to be a haven for patients away from the wards and clinics. Patients can choose to sit back in one of our tranquil lounges to relax and put their feet up whilst taking in the views over the West End of Glasgow.
The centre is a place where patients can relax, enjoy a selection of drinks such as teas, fresh ground coffee or soft drinks. We have daily newspapers and magazines for patients to enjoy when in the centre. Within our library area we have a variety of puzzles, games and books which we welcome patients to use at their leisure. Ipads are also available for those wishing to catch up on their emails!
Our friendly team is highly skilled and experienced and are happy to offer support to patients throughout their stay at The Beatson.

We have partnered up with Body Morph Fitness Ltd to deliver Gentle Movement classes. This class is for all ages and abilities, and is designed to assist mobility and ease tension. The movements can be adapted to suit individual needs.
The class is available to all patients, carers and family members affected by cancer and are held every Thursday from 11am-12pm in the Wellbeing Centre.
Beatson Cancer Charity are proud to offer many different therapeutic ways for patients to relax. Every Tuesday at 3pm, in our beautiful Wellbeing Centre, we hold a pottery painting class for in and outpatients at the Beatson. The class lasts for approximately an hour in which participants can relax and decorate their own pot.
Our experienced hairdressers are trained in headscarf tying to show patients different techniques during their hair loss. This is offered as part of group sessions we hold monthly, or a one-to-one appointment can be made for inpatients if required.
Check out our scarf tying tips here →We are lucky to have a variety of volunteer entertainers who come in to perform throughout the year, ranging from folk bands through to magicians and occasional special appearances.
Staff and volunteers have a direct impact on patients and families throughout the cancer centre, from our welcome service which welcomes and accompanies patients and families to their destination, to our direct engagement around the wards, departments and Wellbeing Centre.
