Unfortunately, every community is affected by cancer in one way or another. From a simple coffee morning, to skydives and race nights, every penny you raise helps us to support a friend, neighbour or relative to make their cancer journey easier. You can also organise a bucket collection within your local community and be part of our team of fantastic supporters who work with us to make sure that small change makes a big difference.

Socialise – whilst socially distancing! If there’s one thing we’re all missing, it’s the faces of our friends and family. Technologically we have all come a long way in this lockdown making the most of video call platforms. If you’re looking for a way to change up your usual calls how about these suggestions?
By using platforms such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams you can get some face-to-face time with loved ones whilst raising funds.
Top Tip: Do you know someone with a Zoom business account? If you want your event to go big, with a paid account you can host up to 100 participants!
There are many ways to raise funds online, with a varying amount of effort required for each suggestion. These are things you can carry on doing into life post-lockdown too.

We appreciate that especially in these times many of us do not have as much spare change to give. So how about being able to give when you shop online for necessities. You can do this via shopping donation platforms such as Amazon Smile and Give as You Live.
Both work in similar ways. You access them before you start shopping, choose Beatson Cancer Charity as your beneficiary, then they will track your purchase and donate a percentage of that shop to the charity. Lockdown could be the perfect time for you to finally sort through the clothes you never wear, items around the house you never use or unwanted gifts. By using sites such as Ebay and Depop to sell items you can choose to give a percentage of your earnings to Beatson Cancer Charity.
There are also many social media platforms you can raise funds on. We are currently in the process of setting up Facebook Fundraising – please keep an eye out for more news on this.
