Taking a charity collection can for your shop or business is a simple and easy way to help support patients and their families facing cancer.  Businesses of all different sizes help raise incredible amounts for Beatson Cancer Charity thanks to their very generous customers.

Here are just few amazing examples of those in the community raising funds for Beatson Cancer Charity through  displaying collection cans:

The Kitchen, Crow Road, Glasgow

Lawrence Neil, the business proprietor has been running this busy take away food shop which sells a variety of meals for over 20 years. Lawrence and his family, who all work together in the business, are at the heart of their community. This makes it even more poignant that they've chosen to support Beatson Cancer Charity since the start of 2016. They have done this by having collection cans in their shop for customers to donate their loose change, offering them a “wee sweetie” in return for their generosity. The business also kindly donates their 5p bag charge to us.

Christie the Baker, Coatbridge, Airdrie

In less than 5 months, Lanarkshire based Christie’s Bakers raised £585 - and the pennies just keep rolling in from the generous customers of this mouth-watering bakers. At Christie’s the cheery staff are always waiting to serve the queue of loyal customers with a good bit of Scottish banter and a smile of course.

In 2013 Andrew Chisholm took over this business which has been established for over 70 years and with The Lanarkshire Beatson Radiotherapy Centre on their doorstep. Andrew was more than happy to place donation cans in both of their shops to help raise funds which will directly help cancer patients in the West of Scotland.

Keystore, Hyndland Road, Glasgow

A fantastic £2,710.10 has been raised by the amazing staff and customers of the Keystore on Hyndland Road, situated close to The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre. Business owner Jaz Singh decided three years ago that he wanted to do something to help when his mother Reasham Kaur, known to customers as Rachel, received treatment at The Beatson. Before this Jaz didn’t really know anyone with cancer, but soon customers and other acquaintances were telling him how The Beatson had helped their family and friends.

Jaz regularly returns cans full of customers’ kind donations and is determined to keep going with this community effort to help many more cancer patients in the future. The odd coin here and there might not seem like much, but when it’s added to all the loose change saved by other supporters it soon becomes a significant amount.
