We are thrilled to announce a total of £60,675 from our annual Ball was raised for patients and families affected by cancer all across Scotland.
Beatson Cancer Charity invited guests to don some glitz and glam for a night of entertainment at its Beatson Ball which took place on Friday (4 November) at the five-star Hilton Hotel in Glasgow.
Scots author Angela Proctor contributed to the amount raised by auctioning one of the characters in her third book in the Thumble Tumble series following the recent launch of her second book in Glasgow’s west end.
“It’s an honour to support Beatson Cancer Charity and to be a part of this very special event. The evening was a great success spent with some wonderful and inspiring people.
"The money raised will make a huge difference to people living with cancer throughout Scotland.”
The money raised from the event will help to provide a comprehensive range of patient and family support services, including patient wellbeing and complementary therapy services delivered at the charity’s unique and award-winning Wellbeing Centre and throughout the cancer centre and related facilities across the west of Scotland.
David Welch, Chief Executive of Beatson Cancer Charity, said:
“The Beatson Ball is a wonderful opportunity to bring people together and inspire them to join Beatson Cancer Charity in the fight against cancer, where we will make a real difference to enhance the support, care and wellbeing of cancer patients. It’s an absolute privilege to host our annual Beatson Ball among some truly incredible people.
“We’re continuously astonished by the generosity of our supporters. This amazing amount of money raised will make a direct impact on thousands of cancer patients and their families, both now and in the future, something that’s truly priceless.”
Beatson Cancer Charity also funds specialist staff posts including nursing, radiography, physics and research based staff as well as funding enhanced medical equipment, innovative service developments and novel research projects and educational initiatives.
