Beatson Cancer Charity's Sporting Dinner raised a wonderful £161,314 for cancer patients living in the west of Scotland and beyond.
Over 700 guests attended the event at The Hilton Hotel in Glasgow on Thursday 8th May, which was sponsored by Allied Vehicles. The special guest for the evening was world heavyweight boxing champion, Tyson Fury, who took part in a Q&A session with host and sports broadcaster, Peter Martin.
Other key sporting figures in attendance included Frank McAvennie, Xander & Matt Fagerson, Peter Grant, Gordon Smith, and Allison Walker.

Tyson Fury also signed a pair of boxing gloves which were then auctioned off after his Q&A, with the gloves selling for £8000.
The total raised and announced at the event was £153,795, but following some generous donations after the event, the total has since risen to £161,314.
A live auction took place on the night which gave guests the opportunity to pay £3,500 to sponsor one month’s supply of the newly launched Beatson Bundles.
These specially curated packs are designed to offer comfort and care for three key groups of patients – children and young people, bereaved families, and those receiving end-of-life care. Each month’s supply provides 28 packs, providing reassurance and distraction in an often overwhelming clinical environment.

We were overwhelmed by the generosity in the room, with 18 individuals stepping forward to sponsor a month each. This raised an outstanding £63,000 – enabling us to deliver over 500 bundles across the year to patients and their loved ones when they need it most.
