This Volunteers’ Week, Beatson Cancer Charity is celebrating more than 560 incredible volunteers who gift their time to support cancer patients and their families across the west of Scotland.
One of those volunteers is Chloe Jebb, who joined the charity over a year ago after doing her own fundraising. Since registering, she’s been a regular friendly face at community events, bucket collections, and even helps in the Beatson Café when she can.

“I just look out for the newsletter that comes through with all the opportunities, and whatever I’ve got time to do, I chip in and help,” Chloe says. “We did TRNSMT last year, which was really fun, and I do a bit of volunteering in the café too.”
For Chloe, the decision to volunteer with Beatson Cancer Charity is deeply personal.
“The Beatson has helped my family a lot over the years,” she explains. “My grandad was supported by The Beatson when he was still with us, and my gran is currently an outpatient. I’m so grateful for everything they’ve done for us.”
“If you’ve never volunteered with a charity before, The Beatson is a really good one to get involved with. Just knowing that by giving your time, you’re helping people in need—it’s so rewarding. I’m really proud to be a part of it.”

With over 560 volunteers involved in everything from fundraising and events to patient services and café support, Beatson Cancer Charity simply couldn’t do what it does without the people who generously gift their time.
Marlyn Hosie, Volunteer Manager at Beatson Cancer Charity, said:
“We are so grateful to each and every one of our volunteers, like Chloe, who gift their time to help make a real difference in people’s lives. Their kindness, energy and commitment are at the heart of everything we do. Happy Volunteers' Week all!”
