Santa Claus will make a surprise visit to The Beatson on Christmas Eve, wearing a brand-new suit funded through a grant awarded by Beatson Cancer Charity. The grant has helped ensure Santa can continue spreading festive cheer to hospitals and communities, including those spending the festive period in care.
The visit aims to bring moments of joy and comfort to patients, families, volunteers and staff during the festive season. Due to the clinical nature of The Beatson, Santa’s route will be carefully managed, with some areas requiring special permission. Further details will be shared once arrangements are confirmed.

Speaking ahead of the visit, Santa Claus said:
“I’m absolutely delighted to be making a surprise visit to The Beatson. It’s a very special place, and if I can bring even a wee bit of joy, a wee bit of happiness, and a smile to those who really need it right now, then it’s more than worth it.
I’ll be up extra early to be here - Mrs Claus might not be too pleased, and the reindeer certainly won’t be - but sometimes I must pull rank, especially for somewhere as special as this.
I want to wish everybody - and I really do mean everybody - all the staff, all the patients and all the volunteers, a very merry Christmas. I hope I get the chance to meet lots of you and bring a wee bit of cheer along the way.”
A spokesperson from Beatson Cancer Charity said:
“We’re incredibly grateful to Santa for taking the time to visit The Beatson on Christmas Eve. For patients, families, volunteers and staff who are spending the festive period in hospital, moments like this can bring much-needed comfort and a welcome lift at this time of year.”
