Meet Juno: Our 2024/25 Beatson Ambassadog

Each year, we invite supporters to nominate their beloved four-legged friends to become Beatson Cancer Charity's official Ambassadog. This special pooch takes on a paws-itively important role which consists of joining us at events, helping raise awareness, and spreading joy wherever they go.

This year, we’re delighted to introduce Juno, our beautiful Labrador and proud Beatson Ambassadog 2024/25.

A Friend Through Recovery

Juno’s story is as inspiring as it is heart-warming. She was entered into our competition by Nicole Lowther, who has faced an incredibly tough journey with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Nicole was first diagnosed in 2018 and, after a period of remission, sadly relapsed in 2023 with Stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Following a stem cell transplant, Nicole’s immune system was severely weakened, leaving her isolated at home during recovery.

That’s when Juno came into her life.

“Juno has helped to make my stem cell recovery so much easier for me and my family,” Nicole said. “We got Juno a few months after my transplant and she has been the best company when my partner, family and friends are working. She encourages me to move more by walking her, and this has improved my mental health substantially through love, company, compassion and movement.”

A Source of Strength

Juno quickly became more than just a pet, she became Nicole’s constant companion, source of strength, and motivator.

“My mental and physical health wouldn’t be where it is without having her. I owe a lot of my recovery to her,” Nicole says. “No matter what happens with my health, she will be there to comfort and support me. Juno is my best friend.”

Juno’s affectionate and calming nature doesn’t stop at home, she brings joy to everyone she meets. “She loves everyone and cheers them up. In my opinion, she is everything an ambassador should represent: hope, courage, strength, love - always making me and my recovery better.”

A True Beatson Star

Since being crowned Ambassadog, Juno has been proudly flying the flag for Beatson Cancer Charity. Whether she’s appearing at events, joining photoshoots, or simply giving a reassuring paw to those who need it, Juno has made a huge impact already.

We’re honoured to have her as part of #TeamBeatson and can’t wait for you to meet her at Off the Beatson Track 2025 and other events throughout the year.
