A letter to our wonderful Beatson Cancer Charity Volunteers

A letter to our wonderful Beatson Cancer Charity Volunteers

6th June 2022

In their own words, Volunteer Manager, Marlyn Hosie, and Volunteer Co-ordinator, Paul Sheerin, have written a letter to our volunteers.

"It’s Volunteers’ Week which is a brilliant opportunity for us to say thank you to you for all your help and support. I know we say thank you a lot, but it’s a real joy to be able to celebrate the massive contribution you and your fellow volunteers make as part of a national celebration.

Patients, their families and loved ones benefit enormously from all the kindness and support you provide. You help us reach families far and wide as you help in so many different ways, but the one thing that unites all of you is your unfaltering dedication to spread care, love and hope however you help. It means the world to us and we cannot thank you enough! We think you are tremendous.

We are so lucky that you choose to spend your time supporting us at Beatson Cancer Charity and you make it a really special place to be. We’ve lost count of the really special moments when we see, hear and feel first-hand the impact you have; the smiles you bring and the way you make people feel cared for and cared about. Please don’t ever doubt or underestimate the power of your volunteering. Individually and collectively, your super power is kindness and we are truly appreciative of each and every single minute you gift to us.

The last few months, has seen the welcome return of some of our volunteer services and in the not too distant future we cannot wait to welcome back the rest of our team. Until then, we would like to wish you all a very Happy Volunteers’ Week and to say thank you, thank you, thank you to the best team ever!

Take care."
