Govan firm Paper Shredding Services has been turning shredded paper into cash for Beatson Cancer Charity.

The company has sent monthly donations to Scotland’s leading cancer charity with the amount donated based on how many tonnes of paper they send to paper mills for recycling each month.

They have been providing shredding and recycling services since 2000 and visit thousands of business clients, both large and small, nationwide. In addition, they provide their services to domestic customers who can arrange a collection or use the company’s drop off service.

Joyce Ross, Corporate Partnerships Manager at Beatson Cancer Charity, popped along to meet father and son Ron and Steven Hill who run the business to see the shredding for herself. Joyce said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Paper Shredding Services for supporting us. Ron and Steven are the epitome of the support we have in this community and an example of how businesses can get right behind Beatson Cancer Charity and help in our determination to beat cancer.”

Ron Hill, Director at Paper Shredding Services said: “We’re committed to supporting the community in which we operate and delighted that we can play our part in helping the patients and families whom Beatson Cancer Charity supports. We’ve donated over £2,500 so far and will continue to support the charity each month.”

Beatson Cancer Charity is determined to beat cancer and committed to securing significant funding to support and enhance the treatment, care and wellbeing of current, former and future cancer patients and their families.
