Leading asset management and construction consultancy, Currie & Brown, is supporting Beatson Cancer Charity’s ‘Wear it Yellow’ appeal to show support for the new Lanarkshire Beatson.

The company, who are the project managers for the Lanarkshire Beatson, turned yellow for the day as employees dressed up in the bright yellow Beatson Cancer Charity colour to help raise money for people with cancer and their families living in Lanarkshire.

With cancer being one of the greatest health problems facing Scotland today, the ‘Wear It Yellow’ appeal encourages local businesses, community groups and schools to get involved with the charity and learn more about the disease and radiotherapy whilst helping the charity raise its target of £500,000 to further enhance the new Lanarkshire Beatson facility.

Lanarkshire Beatson will be a new £22 million Satellite Radiotherapy Treatment Centre, based at Monklands General Hospital in Airdrie and will be equipped with the most advanced technology and equipment to deliver world-class treatments to thousands of cancer patients and their families.

Beatson Cancer Charity will expand on its current services to deliver a range of complementary therapies and design and environment enhancements to enhance the wellbeing of people from across Lanarkshire who will benefit in the hope of making their treatment more comfortable.

Charlene Elliott, Head of Fundraising said: “The charity already offers incredible services to help support people with cancer and the challenging time for their loved ones. It is fantastic that we are in a position to be able to provide these services locally in Lanarkshire while improving the experience for patients and their loved ones.

“Our ‘Wear It Yellow’ appeal is a fun and easy way to encourage businesses like Currie & Brown to feel part of the fundraising for the new radiotherapy treatment centre. Whether it’s wearing yellow onesies, applying yellow face paint or baking yummy yellow treats, there are lots of ways everyone can get involved to help give a massive boost for the new radiotherapy treatment centre. I’d like to give a huge thank you to all the staff at Currie & Brown for their ongoing support and I hope everyone had a tremendous time wearing it yellow!”
