"Kevin was determined to do something for the charity and the day after his final cancer treatment he embarked on our three-peak exhibition Challenge Arrochar raising an impressive £223."

Two weeks ago  was our unique three peak adventure -  Challenge Arrochar. For Kevin McGlin, this was his chance to give something back  for the amazing care and support  he recieved  at  the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre.

Kevin, from Dunoon, was diagnosed with a brain tumour in February this year and underwent months of radiotherapy after his surgery at Glasgow’s Southern General Hospital.

The merchant seaman first became aware that something was wrong when he had a seizure while out at sea. Blood tests followed for him  and after his diagnosis he began the first of  his 33 radiotherapy treatments. The Beatson and his close ones have been instrumental in his recovery and he couldn't be more grateful to them. He said:

“The help and support I’ve received from my family, friends and most of all from my girlfriend Dawn, has been incredible. All this support really helps recovery, as does a positive attitude.”

Kevin was determined to do something for the charity and the day after his final cancer treatment he embarked on our three-peak exhibition Challenge Arrochar raising an impressive £223.

We have been truly inspired by Kevin’s bravery and efforts and he is already planning in taking part in our next big fundraising challenge Aim for the Skye and a sky dive which we are so thankful for.
