Meet Aniqah Javaid, a current Beatson patient and amazing #teambeatson fundraiser. Aniqah was just 22 when she was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma in February 2014, during the final year studying Pharmacy at Robert Gordon’s University in Aberdeen. She started 6 months of chemotherapy at the Beatson at the end of February before being given the all clear in August.
She has just recently completed 3 weeks of radiotherapy and now fighting fit and on the road to recovery – well done Aniqah!
Aniqah has been involved with SEMSA, the Scottish Ethnic Minority Sports Association, for six years. This is primarily voluntary work however initially playing football for their SEMSA girls team.
Aniqah was delighted to be able to raise funds for Beatson Cancer Charity at the UK Asian Football Championship dinner, on Sunday 31st August and is pictured here presenting the cheque to our Fundraiser, Megan.
She has continued fundraising by organising a local football tournament amongst other things, and handed in a whopping £1227.36 to our Fundraising Hub last week. Keep up the good work Aniqah – you’re a star!
