“By supporting our MRI appeal, you will be giving hope to thousands of patients dealing with a cancer diagnosis - this year and beyond.”

Martin Cawley, CEO, Beatson Cancer Charity

Ultimately, this transformational technology will lead to better cancer treatment with fewer side effects.

Will you please donate to Beatson Cancer Charity’s MRI appeal today, and help to build a better future for people living with cancer?

We are so lucky that we have The Beatson here in Scotland, with world-leading clinicians ensuring that people have access to some of the best treatments ever developed.

By helping to fund this cutting-edge MRI scanner, you could help us add the ‘extra piece’ that will allow us to deliver world-class radiotherapy treatment.

Now is your chance to help at least 20,000 people at the very moment when they need it most – giving them hope of a more complete recovery from cancer.

Here's how MRI Works

We hope you will join us in improving outcomes for 20,000 people with cancer over the next ten years.

Enhanced Treatment

The MRI scanner allows us to view and analyse tumours like never before. This means healthy tissue will be protected from radiation, reducing side effects from radiotherapy.

Increased Precision

The high definition of MRI means that we can be even more confident that the treatment is targeted in the right place, where it will have greatest effect on the tumour.

Additional Treatment Opportunities

It will allow more people to access new and emerging treatments that require a specifically accurate image of the tumour to work effectively.

I know the past 12 months have been tough for everyone, but I really hope that you are as excited as I am at the prospect of bringing some hope to those dealing with a cancer diagnosis, through these challenging times and beyond.

Eithne MacPherson, Head of Therapeutic Radiography, The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre
