We understand that dealing with the loss of a loved one is a personal matter and everyone finds their own way of coping with this experience. Giving a gift in memory to a cause close to the heart of you or your loved one is a poignant way of remembering them, and a way to honour their life. There are several ways that you can do this. Please see below for some ideas
For many people setting up a Beatson Tribute Fund is a heart-warming way for friends, family and colleagues to come together and keep a loved one’s memory alive. Many people choose to give regularly or make a donation on what would have been their birthday, or in place of the gift they would have bought them at Christmas.
Setting up a tribute fund page is quick and easy to do. It is free and there is no minimum donation amount. If you need help to set one up or you would like further information on setting up your tribute fund page, or making a donation in memory of someone special, we can support you.
We will help you manage your tribute fund and provide you with updates about how your tribute fund is helping us to provide vital services. Many families tell us that they gain immense strength and comfort knowing their loved one’s memory will live through their lasting tribute. Your tribute fund will be yours to promote and grow however you choose and you can keep your tribute fund page open for as long as you like. Family and friends can also help to grow a tribute fund. Simply email them a link to the tribute fund page so they can make a donation and leave their own message of remembrance on your tribute fund page.
A personalised tribute fund allows you to turn memories into practical support for the thousands of people of all ages who receive treatment at The Beatson each year. As your fund grows, so does the impact it has on the lives of so many people both now and in the future.
Many people ask for donations in lieu of flowers at a loved one’s funeral or memorial service. If this is something you would like to do, we can provide you or your chosen funeral director with announcement cards and collection envelopes which can be given to family and friends at a service.
A simple way to let people know of your collection in memory is to include a request in any obituary notice you may place, or simply to tell your friends and family your wishes. Your chosen funeral director will be able to give advice when organising a funeral collection.
