Staff at Beatson Cancer Charity want to say a massive thank you to our colleagues from NHS GGC Capital Planning Team and Operations/Estates team for all their support to help transform our office space this year.

Our offices were closed temporarily in April to allow companies to carry out the work, which was completed in August.

The new look workplace was unveiled following four months of labour from contractor GRAHAM and several trusted suppliers, including Taylor & Fraser, Ian Weir Furniture Supplies and Alpha Decorators. All suppliers offered generous discounts on materials and labour fees.

Scottish architectural firm, Oberlanders, helped design a bright and welcoming reception area – topped off with seating areas and meeting spaces.

Every department within the building has also benefited from a refreshed working space. New bathrooms and kitchens have also been installed. We would like to thank Cundall, a global multi-disciplinary consultancy, who helped with the overall design.

Alpha Decorators carried out work to make sure the space represented our charity perfectly, and kindly completed some areas free of charge.

Our fantastic new reception area also features soft furnishings and a reception desk provided by Ian Weir furniture supplies.

Another significant contributor was the team from M&E contractor, Taylor & Fraser, who offered a large discount on the mechanical, electrical and plumbing works. We would also like to thank National Sign Co., who made our building’s new signage.

Our sincere thanks go to the team at Novograf, who helped us bring our signature branding back into our workspace. They designed and installed a large timeline in our main corridor free of charge. They also added Our Values and Our Mission Statement to our reception area for supporters to see. We are also grateful for the pinboard they also designed and installed for us – a perfect hub for our staff to keep up to date with the latest events in our charity.

Chris MacLeod, Regional Director at GRAHAM, said: “The work delivered by Beatson Cancer Charity across our communities is invaluable. Sadly, most of us have been impacted by cancer and alongside the project team, we are incredibly proud to give something back to thank the Beatson team for the lifeline support they provide daily.

“Our GRAHAM team did a fantastic job overseeing the project which saw everyone come together to deliver a high-quality, modernised space for both visitors and staff. The project’s success is the result of the phenomenal generosity from everyone involved and underlines our collective efforts to deliver lasting impact across communities.”

Martin Cawley, CEO of Beatson Cancer Charity, said: “We are completely overwhelmed by the support shown from GRAHAM and other suppliers this year during our office renovation.

“The completed job is fantastic and represents our charity perfectly. It’s bright and modern and allows us to invite patients and supporters into a space that feels welcoming.

“We would like to thank everyone who helped give our staff an office space which they enjoy walking into each morning. The additional areas for 1-2-1 meetings and group support sessions will ultimately allow us to be there for more patients and their families in the future.”

On behalf of all our staff, we would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who helped renovate our office!
