Bearsden chippy gives away free suppers in aid of Beatson Cancer Charity

Romy’s fish and chip shop in Bearsden is giving away free suppers today in aid of Beatson Cancer Charity. 

The takeaway is making the kind gesture as it marks its 40th anniversary in the town. 

Customers will be able to claim their free meal between 4-9pm on Tuesday 1st February, in exchange for a donation to Beatson Cancer Charity.

Ralph, Laura’s husband, says he hopes they can raise a lot of money for a charity close to their hearts. 

Ralph said: “My mother-in-law has survived cancer because of the good work the Beatson do.  

“My daughter got cancer six and half years ago and she survived - thank god.  

“My wife’s now got cancer – she was diagnosed about seven months ago."

“My suppliers have been very generous and helpful in also donating food too.” 

Laura and Ralph’s son-in-law, Nico Simeone, recently opened Beat 6 restaurant in Dennistoun, where 100% of profits go to Beatson Cancer Charity.
