At Beatson Cancer Charity we support and enhance the treatment, care and wellbeing of current, former and future cancer patients and their families. We work in partnership with the NHS, The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre and all related facilities. We also offer the wider community a unique opportunity to contribute to the fight against cancer in the broadest possible sense.
We are currently seeking a Clinical Psychologist or Counselling Psychologist to bring additional psychology resource to the Charity working across the Specialist Health And Work Service (SHAWS) and Living With Uncertainty/Fear of Recurrence Project (National Lottery Community Fund project).
Key Responsibilities
The Clinical Psychologist will work alongside the SHAWS Practitioner Team to provide 1-2-1 specialist psychological support to clients where clinically appropriate, to devise and deliver psychologically themed group workshops to patients, family members and employers and to input to client case management through support and advice to the practitioner team.
The post holder will also support the delivery of the Living with Uncertainty/Fear of Recurrence Project through the delivery of an ACT based group intervention. Working alongside existing team members this will include management of referrals, pre and post-test evaluation measures and input to the projects wider overall aims and objectives.
This role will be managed by Beatson Cancer Charity and clinical supervision will be managed by a clinical psychologist at Beatson West Of Scotland Cancer Centre.
