We are excited to reveal the Whisky Auctioneer will be supporting Beatson Cancer Charity. On the 24th of September, you will be able to bid on some fantastic drams as well as support people and families affected by cancer.

With the Scotch Whisky Industry Charity Auction, the Industry has come together to provide a collection of whiskies to be auctioned in support of Beatson Cancer Charity, raising funds for and promoting awareness of the charity’s important work.

There is not long to go until the whisky auction goes live. Once the auction is live, you can register here.

We have also received some wonderful support from across the pond! You can watch Ross King introducing this fantastic event below.

Q&A

What is the Scotch Whisky Industry Charity Auction?

The Scotch Whisky Industry has come together to provide rare, unique, collectible, well-regarded whiskies that will be auctioned through Whisky Auctioneer to raise awareness and funds for Beatson Cancer Charity.

How did this Auction come about? And why Beatson Cancer Charity?

Inspiration for the auction came from former Edrington Chief Executive Ian Curle, who benefitted first-hand from the skill and dedication of the clinicians at The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre after undergoing treatment at the internationally renowned institution.

How do I get involved with bidding in the Auction?
It is easy to take part in the auction, and you can do so from virtually anywhere in the world from your mobile, tablet or home computer/laptop

Anyone wishing to place bids can go to https://www.whiskyauctioneer.com, make sure they are registered, and then place bids on lots.

When bidding, users can either set a max bid so that our system ‘auto-bids’ as a proxy up to that value, or bids can be placed incrementally. The highest bidder at the close of the auction is then notified and asked for payment.  Once a customer wins, they complete payment and our team gets their carefully packaged winning lots shipped out as soon as possible.

The Auction will go live on Friday, 24 September 2019 and will close from 7pm (BST) on Monday, 4 October.

Note: registration fees collected during the Scotch Whisky Industry Charity Auction will be included in the donation to Beatson Cancer Charity.

Does the money raised all go to Beatson Cancer Charity?

All key parties involved have waived the right to any profits, all funds will go to Beatson Cancer Charity to support the incredible work.  Whisky Auctioneer has also waived all seller fees and the 10% buyer commission will be included in the donation to Beatson Cancer Charity.

How much will be raised for Beatson Cancer Charity?

The Auction will feature over 100 rare and prestigious whiskies from Scotland’s finest distilleries and Whisky Auctioneer’s experts have estimated an auction hammer price value of over £110,000. Interest in the auction is expected to be high due to the rarity of the bottles on offer so there could be some world-records broken, and some of these bottles have never before been seen at Auction (some even being specially bottled for this Auction).  Coming straight from the distilleries or people involved with them, these bottles have solid provenance – something incredibly important to whisky collectors across the globe.
