"Martin brings considerable experience to this challenging role."

Beatson Cancer Charity is delighted to announce that Martin Cawley has been appointed as CEO.

Martin is Scotland Director of the National Lottery Community Fund and will lead the charity from July. He was previously CEO of Turning Point Scotland. As well as working across the third sector, he has also spent more than ten years with NHS Scotland.

Beatson Cancer Charity Chairman Jamie Matheson said:  “Martin brings considerable experience to this challenging role. He is a leader among people and will play a pivotal role in directing our strategy in the years to come. We look forward to welcoming him in the very near future.

“I would also like to pay a huge debt of gratitude to Alison McGregor for acting as Interim Chief Executive since January.  Alison will return to her position as a trustee of our board when Martin arrives. As one of the country’s most respected business leaders, we are so fortunate to have someone of Alison’s calibre supporting our organisation. We cannot thank her enough for her continued guidance and advice.”

“Beatson Cancer Charity has a very special place in the heart of communities across the west of Scotland. I am so looking forward to immersing myself in the work of the charity and being part of the very special family called Team Beatson.”
