"For the first time in the charity's history, Beatson Cancer Charity will be supplying ward volunteers throughout the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre"

Beatson Cancer Charity are delighted to announce the launch of our new Ward Volunteers, as well as recruiting a number of other volunteering positions based in the hospital and at our events.

For the first time in the charity's history, Beatson Cancer Charity will be supplying ward volunteers throughout the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre. This will initially be piloted in two wards, with the potential to increase in to other wards if successful.

A ward volunteer at The Beatson will largely be a patient-companion role. They will be there to assist staff in providing a warm, safe and friendly environment to patients, carers, families and other visitors as well as providing companionship with patients where required.

There will be   no  personal care roles and volunteers will be required to commit to 3-4 hours per week. This is a great opportunity to volunteer your time in a ward environment, directly helping patients and families.

Beatson Cancer Charity are also recruiting a range of other volunteers, both in the hospital and our other associated facilities (Clinic P at the New Victoria and Oncology Ward at Inverclyde Royal Hospital). There are a range of opportunities, including working at the Beatson cafe and helping on our much loved tea trolley service.

Finally, Beatson Cancer Charity's events would not be possible without the help of our volunteers. There are many ad hoc opportunities to volunteer throughout the year, especially at our bag packs and bucket collections.
