Funding generated through the annual Ben Nevis Rocks events has enabled Love Hope Strength to make a £20,000 donation to Beatson Cancer Charity.

The donation was made on stage during the recent sold out Mike Peters concert at King Tuts in Glasgow, with Alan Kilpatrick, board member of Beatson Cancer Charity, accepting the cheque that will help to make a big difference to cancer patients and their families across Scotland.

Charlene Elliott, Head of Fundraising at Beatson Cancer Charity, said: “We are so grateful to Love Hope Strength for this incredibly generous donation. Alarmingly, more than one in three people are affected by cancer in the West of Scotland – the highest cancer rate in Europe. As technology advances and new treatments are developed, the demands on cancer services continue to grow so this level of support is so vital in helping us to continue to provide funding and services to enhance the wonderful care thousands of patients receive at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre each year”.

Beatson Cancer Charity is determined to beat cancer and is committed to securing significant funding to enhance the experience, treatment, outcomes and wellbeing of current and former cancer patients and their families.

Charlene added: “On behalf of everyone at Beatson Cancer Charity, I’d like to give my sincere thanks to everyone who has been involved with this fantastic donation. Your support will go a very long way in the fight against cancer, now and in the future.”
