The Beatson Cancer Charity held another successful parliamentary reception on Tuesday 11th March, this time a little closer to home at the Scottish Parliament, Holyrood.

The prestigious event was kindly co-sponsored by Jackie Baillie MSP and Jim Eadie MSP and was attended by lots of our fantastic supporters, volunteers, Beatson staff and also we were delighted to have the support from various MSPs including Aileen McLeod, Hugh Henry, Mary Fee, Nanette Milne and Rhoda Gran who were very keen to carry the vision of the new charity to their colleagues.

The audience was treated to an enjoyable evening with a range of uplifting and inspirational speeches from Chief Executive David Welch, Chairman Jamie Matheson, Consultant Radiographer Karen Moore, Friends of the Beatson Centre Complementary Therapist Grace Stewart, Beatson patient Nicola Hodge, and huge support from Jackie Baillie MSP and Jim Eadie MSP who opened and closed the proceedings.

All speakers emphasised the importance of the launch and the subsequent development of the new charity as a unique and highly significant step in the fight against cancer and the potential impact of the charity on a local, national and international scale.

We'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended and supported the Beatson Cancer Charity at Holyrood. Photographs of the event are now up on our Facebook page.
