Helping People Live Well Beyond Cancer

It’s fantastic that more people are surviving cancer than ever before, but unfortunately, the impact of having cancer doesn’t always stop when clinical treatment ends.

People and their families are often faced with a poor quality of life after clinical treatment has finished. From stress to low confidence and self-esteem, people tell us how their mental health has been affected by cancer, long after treatment ends.

Thanks to our supporters, we can provide important services like our Wellbeing Centre who do an amazing job of preparing people and their families for life after treatment. Our specialist staff can teach self-help techniques to reduce stress and anxiety. They also offer gentle exercise classes teaching simple movements to reduce the symptoms of fatigue which is a common side effect after cancer treatment.

Our Specialist Health and Work Service is there to help people make workplace related decisions. Every person is assigned a practitioner to work closely with them and their employer, this may be recommending reasonable adjustments or implementing a phased return to work. Our practitioners are with them every step of the way, helping them regain confidence and cope with the emotions they face after cancer treatment.

These services are funded entirely by donations and are a vital part of recovery.
