Professor Fiona Gilbert MBChB, FRCP (Ed), FRCPG, FRCR, a graduate of Glasgow University is Head of the Department of Radiology, University of Cambridge since 2011. Prior to that she held the chair of Radiology at Aberdeen University leading the Aberdeen Biomedical Imaging Centre.
Her research interests are in understanding tumour microenvironment using functional imaging techniques in assessing new imaging technologies. She has published over 150 peer review papers and holds grants from Cancer Research UK, the Health Technology Board and the Medical Research Council. Her clinical expertise is in breast imaging. She was co-lead of the NCRI PET research network, past chair of the British Society of Breast Imaging, Chair of the NCRI Imaging subgroup, and Chair of the Royal College of Radiology Academic committee.
