New Volunteering opportunities

1st Aug 2016

We have some very exciting volunteer opportunities for our Welcome Desk and new Beatson Cafe! See details below for each volunteering role. We look forward to hearing from you!

role: welcome desk

Welcome Desk volunteers are needed to help every day Monday to Friday and the Weekends.  The shifts Mon-Fri are 8:00am -12:00pm, 12:00pm - 4:00pm and 4:00pm - 8pm. Weekend shifts are 11:00am - 4:00pm. The role involves helping patients find their way around the hospital, accompanying them to their treatment or clinic area, assisting with the automatic check in kiosks and signposting them to their destinations.

role: café volunteer

Volunteers will work as part of a small team to ensure the smooth running of the café and delivery of a friendly and professional service.   Ideally we would like you to be available to do a regular four hour shift once a week either in the morning or in the afternoon from Monday to Friday.  Weekend shifts will also be available. Duties will include preparing food and drinks, serving customers in a friendly and courteous manner, stock control, operating the till, cleaning in line with Health and Safety guidelines, recording cleaning and temperature information.

role: tea tolley

We are in need of volunteers for the tea trolley at Clinic P at the New Victoria Hospital. The role involves preparing the tea trolley and taking it round various areas within Clinic P providing complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits to patients. You will be able to be warm and friendly to all patients, families, and NHS staff. The available shifts are Mon, Tues and Wed from 10.00am -14.00pm
