Did you know that you can now walk The Kiltwalk for Team Beatson? With four events across Scotland and three distances to choose from – anyone can take part and help patients and families affected by cancer. The events promise to be fantastic fun-filled days with thousands of walkers out in force.
“I decided to walk for the charity because of the amazing patient and family support that they provide during what can be the most difficult time for any family.
“Wilma was a fantastic mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend and a true inspiration to us all. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2010 just before turning 50.
“Wilma received great support throughout her illness at Beatson Cancer Charity’s Wellbeing Centre. She showed dignity and true fighting spirit every step of the way in her battle with cancer, driven by the help and support of all the staff from the Centre.
“Our Wilma fought the fight of all fights, until with great sadness she lost her battle in May 2016. I’m doing this walk for her.
“Along with my colleagues, Melissa Herson, Oonagh Frew and Jane Henderson, we want to raise awareness of the fantastic work that The Beatson do and raise as much money as possible for them.
“Arnold Clark have pledged to double what we each raise up to £1000 which is fantastic! I’m really excited about the day and can’t wait to get chatting to everyone along the way. Let’s hope for some sun!”
