Janis Ridley Dance Display raises over an incredible £5,000!

12th Aug 2014

We’re delighted tell you about one of our fantastic supporters Janis Ridley - a dance teacher from Coatbridge, who has been teaching dance pupils for 48 years! Six years ago she decided to support the Beatson after a close friend was treated there. One of her pupils also went through treatment at the Beatson and having recently received the “all clear” she is now the mother of two children. This has inspired Janis to organise many fundraising events including a Race night, Sponsored Day of Dance, bag packing and a fantastic Dance Display. This is the sixth year they have donated to the Beatson and to date they have raised an amazing £25,918.25!The Dance Display this year was held in Cardinal Newman High School, Bellshill in June where a wide variety of dance routines including ballet, tap, modern theatre, jazz, contemporary and hip hop were performed by Janis’ pupils. The night was a huge success and they managed to raise over an incredible £5,000! We’d like to say a huge thank you to Janis for her fantastic efforts. We simply could not continue our work without her incredible support! To find out more about how you can get involved and do something incredible to help Beatson Cancer Charity, please visithttp://www.beatsoncancercharity.org/support-us, call our fundraising team on 0141 212 0505 or drop in to our fundraising hub at the Tom Wheldon building entrance to meet our team. (4 photos)
