On September 11 2016, a team of five employees will take on the 50-mile route from Edinburgh to Glasgow with all funds raised being donated to their chosen charity.
Ingen Technical Services is one of the leading Electrical and Mechanical contractors covering projects in a variety of areas throughout Scotland.
Human Resource Manager Darren Mossman will lead the team and is hoping they can raise a lot of money to help Beatson Cancer Charity continue its excellent work in the fight against cancer.
Beatson Cancer Charity is committed to securing significant funding to enhance the experience, treatment, outcomes and wellbeing of current and former cancer patients and their families or carers in partnership with The Beatson and related facilities. As the lead centre for non-surgical cancer care in Scotland, it is the busiest cancer centre in the UK and one of the world’s leading cancer centres.
Training has now commenced among the team and the majority of them will be taking on the challenge for the first time, but team leader Darren has actually completed the race for the last seven years so his experience of the course will likely be invaluable.
Darren Mossman said:
“This is always a fantastic day to be involved in and I look forward to it every year. To be able to combine the cycle with the opportunity to raise funds for such a worthy cause is great. I am really excited for the event in September and I can’t wait to help support my colleagues through to the finishing line.”
Beatson Cancer Charity provides a range of patient and family support services and facilities including patient wellbeing and complementary therapies delivered throughout the cancer centre, through its unique and award winning Wellbeing Centre and at cancer treatment facilities across the west of Scotland. The charity also funds many specialist posts including specialist nursing, radiography, physics and research-based staff as well as enhanced medical equipment, innovative service developments, novel research projects and developmental staff training.
