Some of Glasgow’s best hoteliers came together at the annual Greater Glasgow Hoteliers Association (GGHA) dinner at the Village Hotel Glasgow on Thursday 18 May to enjoy an evening of fine dining whilst raising an incredible £6,001 for Beatson Cancer Charity.
Hosted by Capital FM DJ Garry Spence and Heart Radio DJ Paul Harper, guests were treated to a sumptuous 4 course dinner sponsored by Braehead Foods, with a selection of paired fine wines by Bibendum Wine.
Guests were extremely generous on the evening, and the money raised will go towards ensuring Beatson Cancer Charity continue to provide the best services for our patients and families.
The GGHA represents the interests of hotels who directly employ an estimated 30,000 people in and around Greater Glasgow. It recently recorded its highest-ever membership rate.
Jamie Stevens, co-chair of the GGHA said:
‘The Beatson does invaluable work in Scotland and it’s a cause all the GGHA members are hugely passionate about supporting. Within the hotels we have had many staff members who have been affected both directly and indirectly by cancer. We also provide hospitality to guests from all over Scotland in our hotels who are visiting loved ones in Glasgow hospitals, so we feel extremely proud and honoured to be able to give back to such a worthy cause.’
Dawn Ferguson, Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser at Beatson Cancer Charity said: ‘We are extremely grateful to the GGHA for supporting Beatson Cancer Charity this year. The event itself was fantastic, everyone in the room was so generous and their support will go a long way in helping people affected by cancer.’
