Florian Tauser prepares for incredible cycling challenge

11th Apr 2014

We are delighted to introduce you to Florian Tauser who is preparing for an incredible cycling challenge which takes place on the 7th-15th June. With the help of his girlfriend Julie, who is organising the journey, Florian will undertake a punishing 1562km nine day cycle from Land’s End at the southern tip of England all the way to John O’Groats!Julie and Florian have decided to fundraise for the Beatson as they sadly lost two of their friends to cancer recently, and know first-hand how cancer has a devastating impact on families and loved ones. One of their friends had all his treatment provided by the Beatson and they are therefore very passionate about supporting the facility to help enhance novel research into drugs and treatments to improve the prospects for those who will develop cancer in the future. On top of that, Florian is an engineer for Coherent Scotland which builds lasers for bio-research which are used in the Beatson Cancer Centre’s research labs, furthering his decision to be part of #teambeatson! We’d like to say a big thanks to Julie and Florian and we wish them all the best in their fantastic fundraising efforts! If you want to find out more about Florian and Julie’s challenge, or if you want to support them you can visit Florian’s blog and JustGiving page below:http://flobikerider.wordpress.com/http://www.justgiving.com/Flo-RiderWithout people like Julie and Florian we simply could not continue our battle against cancer.
