14th Aug 2014

Our fantastic #teambeatson supporter Consultant Dr Hilary Glen has been continuing her amazing fundraising challenge - a whole year of running events for the Beatson! She completed the Ballater 10 mile race in July and battled her way through Hurricane Bertha during the Mull half marathon on Sunday! Her son Jamie has also been inspired by Hilary’s spirit and came forth in the kids 3K race, proudly wearing our yellow #teambeatson t-shirt! Hilary has already raised over an incredible £2, 000 and knows too well how money can make a huge difference to patients. She said: “Since I started training in Oncology in 2000, the changes in treatment, drugs, and research is phenomenal. Most of my work is in clinical trials and the difference these can make to people is incredible.“I think it is important for my patients to see where the money is going and that is why I support Beatson Cancer Charity.”Hilary still has two more marathons left and we wish her the very best of luck for the rest of her challenge! If you would like to support Dr Glen just visit:http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/HilaryGlen, or if you’re about to embark on a challenge for the Beatson, then let us know by calling our fundraising team on 0141 212 0505 or why not send them an e-mail at fundraising@beatsoncancercharity.org.
