Brushstokes and Ballads for the Beatson

28th Sep 2015

We are delighted that Beatson Cancer Charity supporters Watt and Doreen Nicoll will be holding an evening of “Brushstrokes and Ballads” in aid of the charity. Watt and Doreen would be thrilled if you could attend this event at Montgomerys Café in Glasgow at 7pm on Wednesday 30th September. The evening will feature live music, paintings and witty anecdotes with a percentage of any paintings sold coming directly to the charity.

Doreen, Miss Scotland 1964, former model, broadcaster, musician and painter went through treatment for breast cancer five years ago. As a form of therapeutic support she turned to painting to help her cope. “Brushstrokes and Ballads” highlights both her own and her fellow artists work with the stories that inspired them.

International motivational guru and folk singing legend from the sixties, Watt Nicoll has written material for Norman Wisdom, Johnny Cash and The Corries.  Now he has penned some emotional and hilarious material inspired by other artists work and their stories.
