Well hello Team Beatson, how are you all? It’s been a wee while since I jotted down my ramblings, and as I’ve got a few minutes in between very important bee-tings, I thought I’d let you all know what’s been happening in Bella land.
The last time I was here, I was telling you all about Off The Beatson Track. On a side note, don’t you think it’s wonderful to have ‘bee’ in the name of Team Beatson’s biggest event? ANYWAY – what a day! It was my 1st birthday…not that I told many people you understand, and my beau Dishy David Farrell & lovely Laura Boyd got everyone to sing Happy Birthday to me! Over 2100 walkers took part, it was just so much fun. I was at the start, and also gave out many a high 5 at The Beatson Café, halfway round the route.
Look at this photo of me and a furry friend – it’s amazing how strong my wings are!
In September, I also teamed up with Hamley and Hatty Bear to guide the little ‘uns round St Enoch Square for the annual Toddle Waddle! I was buzzing, look at the costumes. I’m so glad I washed my wings and polished my antennae, otherwise I could have been very underdressed, and this bee doesn’t like to be shown up. Nuh uh!
More recently, I was at the Great Scottish Run. On the Saturday I took part in the Mascot Race. Now, I didn’t win HOWEVER it’s the taking part that counts isn’t it? Plus, with all these events in the diary how is a bee meant to have time to train? I was around for the junior races too – they were beeee-rilliant. The Sunday saw the annual 10k and half marathon, and my goodness it was a soggy day. Team Beatson was represented by over 200 runners, some of them must’ve had wings like mine they were going so fast!
As always, it’s been a whirlwind month. I love getting out and about so if you think that your day needs cheered up by my infamous dabbing skills, then get in touch. ‘Til next time!
