Chris was diagnosed with a brain tumour at the age of 34. He was a fitness fanatic and had run seven marathons so this diagnose came as a massive shock.
He was at The Beatson for four and half months and dropped from 10 stone to seven and a half stone. Fiona, Chris’ partner says “No matter what cancer threw at him, he just kept fighting back. I am so proud the way he kept fighting and stayed positive to the very end”.
Chris bravely battled cancer for five years. During his treatment he continued to run and was a inspiration to family, friends and colleagues.
“Losing Chris has been devastating, but I’ll always be grateful to the consultants and nurses at The Beatson. They were so supportive and always found a way to keep our spirits up”.
“I will be hanging a Beatson Bauble this year for my Chris, because I miss him very much, and also to say thank you”.
