Off the Beatson Track is less than 5 weeks away!!

14th Jul 2015

Off The Beatson Track is less than five weeks away and we hope you've been enjoying your fundraising and looking out your best yellow outfit to wear with pride on the day!

We'd love if you would rally the troops! Invite your family, friends and colleagues to join us on Sunday 16th August! Why not sign up as a team? Last year’s event saw lots of participants gather up their nearest and dearest and create teams from 10 to 100 members along with their four legged friends - the more the merrier! Why not take inspiration from wonderful supporters, Team H.O.P.E, who took part last year. Here’s their story:

Jen Bremner from Netherlee (pictured with husband Brem and their two children, Kyle and Evie above), near Glasgow was first diagnosed with a very rare cancer (Leiomyosarcoma) in May 2014,  just a week after an operation to remove a fibroid .  This type of cancer currently affects less than three hundred women in the whole of the UK.    When Jen first visited The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre in July last year she was overwhelmed by the atmosphere and support that was available to both staff and patients at the hospital. After hearing about Off The Beatson Track, Jen decided to get all of her friends and family together and enter a team in the event: Team H.O.P.E which stands for Have Only Positive Expectations. With over 100 people joining Jen’s team, they managed to raise an amazing £8,500!

Jen said “The team comprised of family, friends and colleagues and I feel very blessed to have their amazing support and love each and every day.”

With the money raised through your fundraising for Off The Beatson Track we can continue to enhance the experience, treatment, outcomes and wellbeing for so many patients like Jen and their families.
