"We were overwhelmed with the incredible turnout made up of supporters of the former charities, the Beatson Oncology Centre Fund and the Friends of the Beatson."

A highly successful Civic Reception for the Beatson Cancer Charity was held last night at the City Chambers in Glasgow.

The event was kindly hosted by Councillor Sadie Docherty, the Right Honourable Lord Provost of Glasgow.

We were overwhelmed with the incredible turnout made up of supporters of the former charities, the Beatson Oncology Centre Fund and the Friends of the Beatson. They were told about the exciting developments for the new charity and how this merger is a highly significant step in the fight against cancer on a local, national and international scale.

The audience received an array of insightful and uplifting speeches from the Lord Provost Sadie Docherty, Beatson Cancer Charity Chief Executive David Welch, Board members Alan Kilpatrick, Ian Dickson and Dr Gerry Robertson, Friends of the Beatson Centre Lead Therapist Grace Stewart and Beatson patient Dr Nicola Hodge.

We'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended and we hope we can continue to rely on your generous support.

Photographs of the event will be uploaded to our Facebook page soon so keep a look out!
