The Beatson Cancer Charity has announced its exciting new partnership with Scotland's premier national venue for public events, concerts and conferences, the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre in Glasgow.The charity launched earlier this year and is the only organisation dedicated to supporting the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre. The charity will ensure that the Beatson is acknowledged as one of the world’s leading cancer centres to attract significant funding to further enhance the experience and wellbeing of current and former patients and their families including the 8,000 new patients who are treated at the Beatson every year.This new partnership will see the Beatson Cancer Charity have a significant presence within the SECC during events and conferences and staff will be encouraged to volunteer for the charity and take part in team challenge events. As the lead centre for non-surgical cancer care in Scotland, the Beatson serves around 50% of the Scottish population. The Beatson Cancer Charity will provide vital funding for enhanced patient and family support services and facilities, innovative medical equipment, novel research and additional staff training and development.
