Beatson Cancer Charity is to benefit from one of Scotland’s most highly regarded home builders, Westpoint Homes, in a move that will see the kind-hearted organisation make a donation from each house sale to Beatson Cancer Charity.
The Charity of the Year partnership will also involve the keen staff at Westpoint Homes taking part in a whole host of fundraising activities each month - from Beatson Bake Offs to ‘Wear it Yellow’ days to represent the charity’s trademark colours. Showhomes will also be lightly decorated to highlight the partnership by using Beatson Cancer Charity branded mugs and merchandise.
David Welch, Chief Executive of Beatson Cancer Charity, said:
“This is a truly unique partnership and very generous support from Westpoint Homes who we are honoured to be chosen by as their charity partner for the year ahead. Without support from our corporate partners, like Westpoint Homes, the charity would not be able to make such a difference to those affected by cancer.
“We’re very grateful to everyone at Westpoint Homes for their commitment to raising money for Beatson Cancer Charity. Their generosity will have a direct impact on thousands of cancer patients and their families, both now and in the future, through the dedicated work of the charity.”
Beatson Cancer Charity was chosen because it is a cause close to the hearts of Westpoint Homes’ staff members across the company and it touches the lives of so many people at some stage.
Stephen Cullis, Chairman at Westpoint Homes, added:
“Everyone at The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre and Beatson Cancer Charity works tirelessly to provide patient and family support and the clinical work at the cancer centre reaches far beyond our local communities, creating an impact internationally. To play a part in supporting that work is a real privilege and we are looking forward to helping as much as we can over the coming months.”
Beatson Cancer Charity supports and enhances the treatment, care and wellbeing of current and former cancer patients and their families. The charity delivers a wide range of specialist patient and family support services and provides significant funding to benefit those affected by cancer and to support those involved in cancer care and research. Working in partnership with the NHS and The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre, the charity offers the wider community a unique opportunity to contribute to the fight against cancer.
The charity delivers specialist patient and family support services through its unique and award winning Wellbeing Centre, throughout The Beatson and at cancer treatment facilities across the west of Scotland. It also provides funding for specialist staff, including nursing, radiography and research-based posts, as well as for novel research projects, educational initiatives, innovative service developments and enhanced medical equipment.
