Beatson Cancer Charity has today (Friday 24 March) been announced as charity of the year for St. Enoch Centre in Glasgow. This exciting new partnership will help raise vital funds for patients and families affected by cancer in Scotland.
To celebrate the launch of the partnership, shoppers at St. Enoch Centre were treated to a variety of complimentary treatments including hand, head and shoulder massages, courtesy of our team of therapists ahead of Mother’s Day.
Selected as charity of the year by St. Enoch Centre, Beatson Cancer Charity will enjoy a yearlong partnership which will see the two organisations join forces in the fight against cancer to host a series of exciting fundraising events and activities.
The first fundraising event will kick off with a special Easter Hunt starting from Saturday 1st April until Friday 14th April. Shoppers will be encouraged to hunt down Easter clues to win a chocolate treat and will be entered into a prize draw to win a hamper worth £100.
David Welch, chief executive of Beatson Cancer Charity, said:
“It’s a great privilege to be selected as St. Enoch Centre’s charity of the year for 2017. We’re looking forward to working together and are extremely grateful for the opportunity to raise awareness of our charity and all the fantastic work it does to help cancer patients and their families.
“More than one in three people are affected by cancer in the West of Scotland - the highest cancer rate in Europe - and we want to do all we can to help as many people as possible, and this partnership will help us to reach out to even more cancer patients.
“We really value and appreciate the support from partners like St. Enoch Centre who recognise the importance of our charity and who are willing to unite with us in the fight against cancer.”
Anne Ledgerwood, general manager of St. Enoch Centre, said:
“We are thrilled to be supporting such a valuable cause and extend a warm welcome to Beatson Cancer Charity as our charity of the year. We look forward to working with Beatson Cancer Charity and our shoppers throughout the year to raise valuable funds that will help support the charity’s fight against cancer.”
